My Top 7 Essential Oils I Can't Live Without
•Posted on September 20 2019
Essential oils are everywhere right now and rightfully so. They are like little magical liquids that cure everything! They come in these cute little glass bottles, that visually don’t look like it’s worth the $30 I’m ‘bout to drop, but they are packed with so much power.
There is literally an oil for everything; from bug bites, anxiety, eczema, PMS, joint pain, digestion...all the way down to keeping my attitude in check (that’s when my husband tells me, “babe, go put on some “joy” oil”). Their benefits are insane! Countless healing properties and I am all the way here for it!
These little luxuries definitely cost much more than I wanna pay...whew chile, I sweat every time I have to stock back up...but they are definitely helping me in making the transition into a toxin-free home.
I know when I first started using them, my sister put me on, I was so overwhelmed! I had all the questions lol...What’s good for this? Where to apply it? What oils can I and can’t I consume? What kind of carrier oil do I need? Where do you get? I’m much better now, but I am still learning and experimenting daily.
Not sure where to get started with essential oils? Well, I have put together a list of my top 7 essential oils I can’t live without.
Please note: I am not a doctor. Please consult with your healthcare physician before using. All oils are not to be ingested. I only ingest “vitality” oils from Young Living, which are meant to be consumed.
Essential Oil Singles
Lemon- I use lemon in almost everything, especially in my homemade room refresher sprays. It’s a great cleaning agent, used in a lot of cleaning products and soaps. Plus, it’s a fat-burner, so I add it to my tea, water, and even my salmon...literally EVERYTHING lol. Mentally I feel like I’m losing weight lol. High-five to gettin’ snatched!
Peppermint- I diffuse this almost every morning in my office. It helps with concentration, stimulating the mind and body. It’s a great pick-me-up after lunch too. It invites feelings of peace and calmness. I also diffuse peppermint oil when I have a headache or experience nausea. It’s also good for upper respiratory issues.
Frankincense- Diffuse during meditation to help with grounding and purpose. Or add it to your personal care products for a natural glow. Please skin test a small amount in a discrete area before using. Mixed with a carrier oil it can help reduce scarring from surgeries and even stretch marks. Helps with digestion disorders too.
Eucalyptus- Can kill germs that may be floating around your home and also boost your immune system. Also you can add this to a carrier oil and it can be used as a chest rub for congestion.
Tea tree oil- is good for reducing inflammation of an insect bite. Antiseptic for minor cuts and scrapes. It also keeps them away. A lot of hair care products include tea tree to reduce dry and itchy scalp. It also makes for a good hand sanitizer. Fights acne
Essential Oil Blends
Peace & Calming (signature Young Living blend)- I use this before bed or in high-stress situations. Very calming, hence the name.
Blended with: Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, German Chamomile, Vetiver, Cistus, Bergamot, Cassia, Davana, and Young Living’s exclusive Northern Lights Black Spruce essential oil.
Thieves (signature Young Living blend)- I diffuse and consume this oil. I will put a couple of drops in my tea or coffee. It helps boost the immune system, fights infection, helps with sinus congestion, and a good mood boost. It’s a great cleansing agent. When diffused it neutralizes and purifies the air.
Blended with: clove, cinnamon bark, rosemary, lemon, eucalyptus radiata
It was so hard to choose just 7, but these are definitely some of the oils I have to keep in stock at home. What are some of your must-have oils? Drop a comment below!
